What is Laparoscopic Surgery?

In recent years, it has become a preferred and frequently applied treatment method over open surgery. Laparoscopy, often used for the treatment of problems in the abdominal area, is a surgical procedure performed by entering the area to be treated through small incisions made in the belly button region. The application process of this procedure involves the patient being taken to the operating room after a detailed diagnosis and examination process, and then carbon dioxide gas and special fluids are given to the abdominal area to assist in imaging by creating small incisions in the abdominal area. In recent years, there has been an increase in the incidence of female infertility problems. Laparoscopy, applied in the diagnosis and treatment of this problem, is commonly referred to as bloodless surgery.

How is Laparoscopic Surgical Procedure Applied?

In laparoscopic surgeries performed utilizing technological capabilities, the patient is prepared for surgery after being thoroughly examined and necessary tests and examinations are conducted. During the operation, small incisions are made to the area to be treated, and carbon dioxide gas and a special fluid are given to the abdominal cavity. Thus, the inside of the abdomen will be illuminated comfortably, and the procedure will be performed easily.

During this process, the inside of the abdomen is illuminated with special devices, and surgical equipment is entered through the incisions made. The laparoscopic surgical method is commonly referred to as closed surgery, bloodless surgery, or knifeless surgery.
